ANNOUNCEMENT FROM WORKHORSE CUSTOM CHASSIS

To promote goodwill and to assist FedEx contractors in keeping their trucks on the road, Workhorse Custom Chassis (WCC) will provide additional coverage for the following specific components on both the 2004 and 2005 model year Workhorse P-42 P500 package vans:

Engine Oil Cooler lines – Original warranty is 3 years, 36,000 miles.  WCC will extend the coverage to 3 years, 50,000 miles for parts and labor.  WCC will also extend this warranty to 4 years, 100,000 miles for parts only.  Normally when these lines fail they will initially weep and/or slowly leak for several weeks or months before they need to be replaced.  WCC asks that you contact TAC or Mark Brower prior to repair and WCC will send EOC lines at no charge.  By notifying WCC in advance, WCC will ensure that the proper parts are available.

Fuel Level Sending Units – Original warranty is 3 years, 36,000 Miles.  WCC will extend the coverage on fuel level sending units to 3 years, 50,000 miles for parts and labor, and to 4 years, 75,000 miles for parts only.

Front Axle King Pins – Original warranty is 3 years, 36,000 miles.  WCC will extend the coverage to 3 years, 50,000 miles for parts and labor, and to 4 years, 75,000 miles for parts only.  This component is subject to failure if the truck is not maintained properly and owners are strongly encouraged to lubricate their king pins at every oil change.

Front Leaf Springs – Original warranty is 3 years, 36,000 miles.  WCC will extend the coverage to 3 years, 50,000 miles for parts and labor, and to 4 years, 75,000 miles for parts only.

Shift Levers – Original warranty is 3 years, 36,000 miles.  WCC will extend the coverage to 3 years, 50,000 miles for parts and labor, and to 4 years, 75,000 miles for parts only.

Fuel Lift Pumps – Original warranty is 3 years, 36,000 miles.  WCC will extend the coverage to 3 years, 50,000 miles for parts and labor.

For the components listed above, WCC requests that the owner (or the repair shop doing the repairs) call the TAC group before repairs are performed. TAC will arrange for prepaid overnight shipment of the necessary parts. This will eliminate issues with local parts availability and freight costs to the owner.  This should also reduce the amount of downtime necessary to accomplish the repairs.

The above coverage applies to repairs done from this date forward and is also retroactive to repairs completed since March 1, 2007.  For reimbursement relating to previous repairs of the above components, owners must fax copies of the repair order to Mark Brower at 616-791-1891.  The transmittal document will need to identify both the failure and the specific parts that were replaced.
